The Agony of Presbyopia

Thursday October 4, 2007
Aging is a fact of life, and along with age comes big changes. Presbyopia is a natural aging process of the eye. If you are nearing your 40th birthday, you are probably beginning to notice changes in your vision. In presbyopia, the lens hardens and becomes less flexible, making it difficult to focus on objects up close. This condition can develop as early as 40 or as late as 50. Fortunately, there are several things available to help you see clearly including reading glasses, contact lenses, bifocals, trifocals, variable focus glasses, and surgery.
