ADAM
Definition: A slit lamp is an upright microscope with a light attached that allows the doctor to closely examine the eyes. This instrument is used to view structures of the eye such as the cornea, iris, and lens. By looking through special, hand-held lenses, doctors can examine the back of the eye, giving them an amazing view of the inner eye structures.
