Latisse is an FDA-approved prescription treatment used to grow eyelashes, making them longer, thicker and darker. Since Latisse contains a drug used to treat glaucoma, is it safe to use for eyelash growth?
Latisse is intended to be applied to the skin of the upper eyelid margins at the base of the eyelashes. It should not be applied to the lower eyelid. The American Academy of Ophthalmology suggests that if you have an eye condition, such as glaucoma, macular edema or eye inflammation, ask your eye doctor before using Latisse. Follow the instructions for use of the drug closely. For people with a history of abnormal eye pressure (IOP), Latisse should only be used under the close supervision of a physician.
