A stye (or hordeolum) occurs on the eyelid when an eyelash follicle or a gland becomes clogged with oil or dirt. A stye looks like a small red pimple, usually with a yellowish surface. Styes can be painful and annoying, usually causing the eye to tear excessively. If you are prone to developing styes, there are ways to avoid them.

styes are just pimples or boiles formed in an eyelash follicle. I get pimplers & boils when I eat anything containing cow’s milk. So I stay away from dairy products as a general rule. But when I do indulge, I can get painful pimples in my ears, or on my butt, face, arms, or boobs. So why not on my eye? I just swab the skin area a few times a day (staying away from the mucous lining) for a few days until it goes away, & put a dot of tea tree oil each day. Otherwise I avoid dairy products. Keeps my weight down too. Dairy is drying to the skin too. .
