As you apply sunscreen this summer, don't forget that your eyes also need protection. UV rays from the sun can cause eye problems in the future. I am often surprised by the number of patients I see that admit to not regularly wearing sunglasses. Take the time to pick out quality shades, and make sure your kids do, too. For maximum protection, a pair of sunglasses should be labeled "99 to 100 percent UV protection."
